Coach Jeff Whitaker

Skills Trainer

Jeff Whitaker is a profound skills developer for all age groups but has a passion for working with the youth. Born here in Houston, Jeff attended Westfield High School where he was blessed to be apart of perhaps one of the best high school teams in Texas history, the 2005-2006 36-1 varsity squad. Led by Chris Hagan and Mitch McDonald, Jeff quickly adapted his game to fit the program and he received the playing experience to attain a partial scholarship to Prairie View A&M University.

In 2008, Jeff enrolled in the military where he played three years in the Navy. While playing basketball, Jeff found himself developing a strong passion for Personal Training and helping others reach their full potential. Jeff is certified through American Sports & Fitness Association, ASFA for personal training.

In 2010, Jeff started conducting personal training sessions for close friends and family. Jeff quickly found the desire to train student-athletes and have an impact on their lives. Little did he know that desire would take over his life. In 2013, he decided to give back to the game he loved so much and that helped shape him into the person he is today.

Jeff understands the impact that coaches had in his life and to this day keeps in touch with a few of them.

"All I've ever wanted to do was be a blessing to a student-athlete and give them that opportunity to grow, learn & be molded into a five star student athlete" - Jeff.

As of 2017, Jeff has been giving back even more by training  the youth as well as leading a big brother program on weekends where he talks with young men who may or may not have male figures in their lives.

"I learned that the best coaches aren’t necessarily the ones that win the most games, but the coaches that impact the most lives."

Future Leaders Basketball is proud to introduce their new trainer, Jeff Whitaker.
